ANN HIRSCH

Ann Hirsch uses the internet and social networks to explore the different representations of sexuality and erotic self-documentation that are found there, adopting a creative approach to feminist problematics. Her work is very visible on line through a number of video performances, but she has also exhibited and done performances in venues like MOCA, Los Angeles, and the New Museum, New York.
CPG is featuring a new installation from her web series called “Horny Lil Feminist” in which the artist performs in front of a webcam and creates a range of characters to dissect how personal and political ideals about desire act like contradictory dynamic forces in our daily lives. Through the series, she plays with the popular “camwhore” esthetic in which young women let themselves go and titillate their viewers in front of the computer camera.

*1985, Baltimore (USA), lives and works in Los Angeles
