IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ADC – ASSOCIATION POUR LA DANSE CONTEMPORAINE
Place Sturm in Geneva’s old town is about to witness a major transformation with the construction of the Pavillon de la Danse. ADC, which is behind this project with Flux Labotory, took over the square in October 2015 and proposed to show there for a month a number of artists, choreographers, dancers and students. This was the context then that gave rise to the idea of an art object especially designed for 50JPG. From that moment on, the exercise consisted in representing a public space in progress. The surveillance video here, like an omniscient figure, records the flow of passers-by, revealing the rhythms and pulse as an incantation to dance…
The piece exists in two versions, the first on site and the second at Halle Nord.
