The island is a unique identity subjected to independence, self-sufficiency, endemism, and invention. Each person is an island, each human an indivisible individual, an unpredictable being. To video-monitor is to interpret the images of a film each instant of which is unpredictable. The images of video monitoring form a collection of possibilities. A dream in each case. The disparity of dreams plunges video monitoring into a difficult situation. It can’t reach a conclusion. Except if the island is part of an archipelago and an agreement exists there between all these islands, between all these humans connected through acting and thinking. While the island offers dreams, the archipelago proposes a message. And sometimes a revolution.
