LOW DEFINITION CONTROL (MALFUNCTION #0)
Michael Palm, Austria, 2011, 95′, bw & color, 35mm, OV subs fr/eng

This anticipation documentary uses low quality CCTV video images to illustrate conversations between neurologists, theologians, and sociologists on the mechanization of the perception of public space. The human is depersonified and becomes a subject with behaviours that are predictable by modern technologies which are deeply implanted in modern societies.

INTERROGATION MACHINE
Performance live by Richard Tuohy & Dianna Barrie

The illusion of movement, brought about by the cinematographic process, which gives a palpable idea of time from motionless still frames intrinsically shifts the question of the dissection of movements towards the still image. The 2 artists will be showing 6 pieces on 16mm film that were created by a range of manipulations to show the changes of an object being observed by the mechanism of observation.
