WORKSHOP WITH STUDENTS FROM L’ÉCOLE NATIONALE SUPÉRIEURE D’ARTS DE PARIS CERGY AND L’ÉCOLE SUPÉRIEURE D’ART DE L’AGGLOMÉRATION D’ANNECY.

This project is an attempt to replace the narrative at the center of the question of art and distinguish what makes a “medium” from what makes a “tool.” Starting with digital practices associated with the internet and the questions they raise today (surveillance, privacy, sharing, networking, appropriation, etc.), we were looking to question the computer’s place in artmaking. The ESAAA and ENSAPC students brought together by a workshop at the Grands Voisins in Paris are already experts in these questions in their daily lives. Participating in a collective workshop, they dreamed up artworks that would come to grips with the internet’s current critical reality.
